30 Years of Ears, Cheers & Volunteers – 2019

By the end of this year,  all the chapters that make up of Dreams Take Flight will have taken over 30,000 children to the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World!

This is truly a labour of love for all the people involved in our mission.  Our goal is always to send as many children as we can on this magical experience.

It all began with a small group of Air Canada employees in Toronto who helped bring the Dreams Come True initiative to fruition in 1989.  The first inaugural flight that saw 70 children flown on a DC-9 aircraft for a trip-of-a-lifetime to  Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida.   By 1997, the charity had expanded across Canada & now consists of 8 chapters.  As the founding chapter, Toronto celebrated an evening of 30 years & appreciation for it’s members & volunteers on Saturday, November 9th, 2019.

Held at the Pearson Convention Centre,  it was a night in recognition of all the love and support received from our dear friends & volunteers.   Our Toronto Dreams Take Flight community shared personal stories & testimonies of how the charity positively impacted their lives & what the organization means to them.   It was truly a magical evening filled with laughter & some tears, but mostly laughter;  reminiscing of  trips throughout the years.  A memorable night enjoying good food & especially good company.
