A message from our friends at the Air Canada Foundation:
• Dreams Take Flight proudly continues its long-standing partnership with the Air Canada Foundation.
• The 4th flight of 2024 is set to take off from Toronto
Toronto; October 16, 2024 – Early this morning, children facing adversity embarked on the trip of a lifetime. Departing from Toronto, 175 children from Dreams Take Flight headed to Florida to spend a day at a theme park. Today’s flight is the fourth planned for 2024. The previous flight departed from Winnipeg on October 9th and landed in California, where 120 children enjoyed an unforgettable experience, returning with memories to treasure for a lifetime at the theme park. A total of 237 children took part in the two fall flights.
With the support of devoted volunteers from the Dreams Take Flight organization, Air Canada, and the Air Canada Foundation, children from across the country are taken on a trip of a lifetime, creating hope through magical memories. It’s not just about fun – it’s about opening new possibilities for these amazing kids.
Departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport, the children were accompanied by a few of current and retired Air Canada employees and volunteers. Pilots, flight attendants, maintenance engineers, and number is other employees on the ground and behind the scenes generously donated their time to create magical experiences for the children. After an incredible and exhilarating day, the children flew back to Toronto a bit tired but infinitely happy and full of enthusiasm.
Four more flights are planned for this year departing from Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Montréal, bringing joy to deserving children across Canada.
Each year, 1,700+ kids take the trip of a lifetime to a theme park in Florida or California. Over the past 30 years, Dreams Take Flight & Air Canada, as the exclusive carrier, have given more than 40,000 Canadian children a Dreams flight.
