Give a trip-of-a-lifetime. Give limitless possibilities.

Welcome to Dreams Take Flight | Toronto!

In 1989, four Toronto based Air Canada employees planned a trip-of-a-lifetime for 70 children
with different challenges to spend the day at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

By 1997, the Dreams Take Flight charity had expanded to eight cities across Canada.

To date, the organization has flown thousands of children to Walt Disney World in Florida and
Disneyland in California. The members of Dreams Take Flight are proud to say, “the
organization is 100% volunteer-driven”.

Each year, Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation provide an aircraft for our use. Dedicated
volunteers from within and outside of the airline community work tirelessly year-round to make
each flight a success. All expenses for the children are paid, thanks to fundraising by our
volunteers, corporate and private donations, and charity golf tournaments.

Chapter volunteers work with various medical organizations, social agencies and school
districts, to select the children for the flight who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
2023 marks Toronto’s 34th year of making Dreams Take Flight magical memories for so many
children.

The generosity of individuals and organizations touches hearts and changes lives.  With your
support, we can give more Ontario children, who are experiencing difficult challenges in life,
this magical trip.  Every gift of kindness gives children joy, hope for their future, and begins to
open the idea of possibilities for them, where they once thought were none.

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

In Memoriam of Calvin (Kent) Angus 1952 – 2021

It’s with great sadness that we say goodbye to another one of our co-founders for  Dreams Come True; Calvin Kent Angus, on April 24th, 2021. Kent was among several Air Canada employees in Toronto who helped bring the Dreams Come True initiative to fruition in 1989.  The first inaugural flight that saw 70 children flown on a DC-9 aircraft for a trip-of-a-lifetime to Walt Disney World, in Florida.   He began his professional career with Air Canada at  Toronto Pearson airport in the Commissary department; alongside many initial Dreams Come True volunteers/members.  Then, he transitioned to Customer Service as a supervisor responsible for the Rapid Air operation & Maple Leaf Lounges. From there Kent would move on to become a Customer Service Manager where he assisted with the all travel plan preparations for the Canadian National and International Hockey teams.  This was no small task; as Kent’s responsibilities included coordinating all …
